Boomers: “Why won’t these young people pay for the apartments in the ghetto I rent for 3000 a month? So lazy these kids are”

It shouldn't be stressful young people. Your parents love you and want your future to be a success.

Can you blame them? It’s expensive as hell out here

U still create structure of your adult child if they can't afford reality checks. Mine left when he was 21 but he had to either work or school or both, we supported all his accomplishments & he helped pay for 1 bill (lowest one he picked) 🙌

I hate my life. I want out! There are many ways. I just want the quickest less painful one.

My girlfriend (she's 32) still lives with her parents. Long story short she had some health issues and also can't really afford to live on her own. She needs her parents help with health care things (insurance for the most part) and financial stuff. In college she lived on her own in a dorm, however that did not last very long and she ended up having to transfer from that school over to a school that was nearby her parents. She did that so she could commute everyday. She then got a job near her parents.

I'm 69 years old, and I'm going to inherit the house, soon!
I'll finally be able to invite a woman over!
Thanks, Mom!

Las Vegas used to be cheap AND people made less. Gas was cheaper, utility and groceries. You could get an apartment for $500 month

I wouldn’t mind my 2 year old live with me until he’s 30! 😊🎉❤

We evolved in tribal societies. This whole moving out thing was just not existent. If you wanted a dweling just build one. This own house or apartment is concept not more than 200 years old.

Living with parents saves money but it’s unpleasant and not fun at all, especially when over age 40. Nothing like being fully independent living on your own. Inflation is hurting everybody. People can’t live their lives the way they want to because of it and that causes other problems for everybody else too.

🤭 Yeah, I'm totally gonna go on a trip to Vegas and film it for TikTok likes, but can't invite a casual encounter to my house bc my parents are still up watching some Netflix series in the damn living room!

I'm 26 and I noticed for years that people who make less than me looked like absolute ballers with their nice cars, head to toe gymshark, Nike, etc and I probably looked broke as hell. I just didn't want to look like mr money bags then be like "I still live at home." Anyway the last couple years I rarely ever bought nice things and now I am under contract for my own starter home. If people want badass Instagram photos but can't so much as invite a date over to their own place then that's on them.

How did they work full-time while being students?

Having the best and living at home. Best drinks, best clothes, best vacations, best phone etc etc.
Fooled by the university promises of better future and not applying for the trades.
A generation more worried about their clothes and what others think then scrimping and saving to move out.

I don’t feel bad for young adults, they rather travel, buy designer, drive hellcats, eat out every weekend all for IG. Now that they’re almost 30 reality is hitting… oh well.
