I was there. I was. In the fall of 1987 when U2 entertained us at the LSU Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, LA. A magical night as U2 was still relatively young in America. The awe and candor of their pursuit of the American audience was undoubtedly evident in this tour as they honed their touring craft. Bono was the captain of the helm and invited us onstage to play with them. Perhaps it was their playful connection that sealed their future immortality. Perhaps it is their fundamental love of creating art. In the multitude of encores, U2 proved that they are a band seeking to unite the world in peace through music. U2 has earned their slot in music's history and will forever be remembered as the band that earned a place in our heart.
