I first heard this song in 1987, when I was a fifteen-year-old schoolboy. I was living at that time in a provincial Soviet village behind the Iron Curtain, and only Saint Santa knows how the cassette with U2 songs got into my remote place. It was this song that settled in my heart from the first chords and it seems like it will forever. I would like to wish everyone reading my comment a Happy New Year! I still hear my late son's voice through every single word used in this song. How I remember getting into his vehicle the morning he died, and the CD in the player went straight to this song. Deep song, for deep people, not many will know what went through the mind of the writer of the lyrics. But Bono did an unsurpassed genius of a performance.
