The Complete Splatoon Lore Timeline

Over the last 7 years, the Splatoon series has developed some of the deepest lore of any Nintendo game. Splatoon is about how humanity fell and passed the torch to Inklings and Octolings, the evolved forms of squids and octopuses. Inklings in Splatoon 1, Splatoon 2, and Splatoon 3 face off in battles called Turf Wars and listen to music like the Calamari Inkantation 3mix by the Squid Sisters, Anarchy Rainbow by Deep Cut, and Fly Octo Fly by Off the Hook. Two things you forgot to mention.
1. The reason why DJ Octavio stays in his octo form is to conserve ink. Inklings and Octolings, as they get older, have a harder and harder time producing their own ink. However, you can slow this process down by just staying in your squid/octo form respectively. This is most likely why, despite both Octavio and Cuttlefish assumingly being the same age, Octavio is able to make his own ink and move around a lot easier compared to Cuttlefish. However, there is not any evidence that states that this is the case, but rather assumptions/theories made by the fans based off of what they see, so take that if you will.
2. It's theorized that Lil Judd is running Grizco after the events of Alterna. One piece of evidence is that Lil Judd gets an earpiece after you beat the main story of Splatoon 3 and the bear eating a fish statue is replaced by a fish eating a bear. Another piece of evidence is actually within TableTurf. You can actually battle Lil Judd if you reach a high enough level, and once you do, his deck is EXCLUSIVELY just Salmonid cards, possibly hinting that Judd is involved with the Salmonids to some degree. Maybe through Grizzco?

2:36 correction: the lone bear was not the only animal upon the ark polaris. there were many species from earth, intended to reestablish earth’s ecosystem and variety elsewhere. it’s just that the bear was the only survivor.

Just recently they confirmed in an interview that DJ Octavio can't change forms because of an injury he's got, which follows through with Cuttlefish stuck like that after story mode, it seems if you're hurt bad enough to revert to conserve yourself

I think the Callie vs Marie splatfest could be explained by them hearing Calimari but interpreting it as Callie Marie

It's actually really interesting how Nintendo actually used humans history of evolution for the Inklings and Octolings.

Since fish were the first animals developing a spine millions of years ago, they are the ancestors of all animals who have a spine to this day. And just like us land mammals and humans, we can't stay in water for too long either. 12 hours is already enough to start damaging our skin and lose it's elastic purpose. So it's actually cool to see how Inklings and Octolings have the same issue but then much faster

as someone who was gifted splatoon 3, and never knew what happened in 1 and 2, this video was like an explosion in my brain. It was also the funniest fucking thing i’ve ever seen . You put a lotta effort into this video . Freakin Loved it .

Also “I’m not using a funny meme to depict racial relations breaking down” was indeed a thing to see for sure. I agree with it, but it was wild to see nonetheless in a funny squid game lore video.

Excellent video. One small correction I wanted to bring up is that I think Small Fry turning into Huge Fry was caused by the singing of the Inkantation rather than any kind of Splatlandian Spirits.

My theory for why Callie and Marie is the last splatfest in Splatoon is because in a sunken scroll you see the skeletal remains of human with their Wii U and a plain disc (most likely supposed to be Splatoon) which means that the Splatoon game actually exists in that timeline, and that’s why the printer printed out Callie and Marie.


Theory 2 is that the printer just printed out some models that coincidentally had Callie and Marie’s names.
