This video shows you how to install a new ABS wheel speed sensor for your 2001-2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. ABS wheel speed sensors are critical to the operation of your vehicle's ABS and ESC systems, which use real time wheel speed data to ensure your vehicle stays safe and on the road. These magnetic sensors are sensitive and susceptible to damage, which would require replacing them.

This repair was done on a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT 4.0L Crew Cab Pickup 4-Door RWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Tools you will need:
• 19mm Socket
• Dead Blow Hammer
• Pliers
• Brake Parts Cleaner
• Copper Anti-Seize
• Safety Glasses
• Brass Punch

What a coincidence my 05 just developed the ABS triggering under 10mph on dry pavement problem but never threw a code. My scanner shows the front right sensor dropping out. Thanks for the how to!

is it okay to use blue - not perm thread locker on the bracket bolts instead of red thread locker?

I just looked at my 2005 Sport Trac and the wire from the sensor to the first mounting spot broke of the mount and somehow cut the wire.
