ABS wheel speed sensors are critical to the operation of your vehicle's ABS and ESC systems, which use real time wheel speed data to ensure your vehicle stays safe and on the road. These magnetic sensors are sensitive and susceptible to damage, which would require replacing them.

This repair was done on a 2014 Toyota Prius and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

Thanks, very helpful. question.. at 3:25 right by the sensor cord there another rubber tube there. what's that? I hit a pothole and it cracked destroyed my rim causing it to tangle with it and I had to cut it off to remove the rim. now I have all ABS lights on. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the video. I have been receiving a code that a foreign object is on the tip of my front speed RH sensor and it only throws a code when the car is in cruise control. When replacing this sensor fix my issue you think? I have already inspected my center and it seems clean as well as the contact point on the wheel. Any advice is helpful. Thank you!

So I replaced my sensor with a after market one and it didn’t work at all. Video was helpful, but probably should buy an oem sensor .

is there a specific one for right and one for left? Assume the speed sensor has to be in the wheel hub a certain direction so that it picks up speed?

Question would a faulty sensor cause the abs, traction, and brake light to go on and off? I got my master cylinder changed because the brake pedal would harden but I’ve noticed when I hit speed bumps or pot holes the light goes off, can the problem be this? I think it is, could a faulty sensor cause the brakes to harden? And one more thing what tools would I need
