I've just been doing the same thing on my samsung note II (N7100), just going from android 4.2.2 to Android 12.1! I've even made a tool to do it automatically (upgrading to Android 12 cannot be done through the system settings)

i cant update it, it says i have to register my google account which i cant do because i dont have a google app, which i also cant download cuz the browser is no longer supported T-T help
