They had the director do reshoots which later went nowhere because they released the original cut meaning the reshoots just bloated the budget for no reason

Mickey 17 didn't fail. It's a great movie that did very well in comparison to Bong's other releases(aside from Parasite).

WB failed at estimating what a quirky sci-fi film can realistically make.

I want to see it but I’m also really confused by what kind of movie it is. The first trailer seemed to be for a sci fi movie. The next trailer seemed like they were going for comedy?

In Denmark it played nationally for like 10-12 days, in a handful of theaters only. It feels like WB set the movie up to fail.
