Join Officer in Charge Nathan Gonyea, associate professor Cathryn Thurston, and lecturer Gennaro Bonfiglio for a panel discussion on what’s changed in emergency services since 9/11 and what still needs to be done to keep New Yorkers safe. Thurston is an associate professor and associate department chair of public affairs in the School for Undergraduate Studies. She also manages SUNY Empire’s online courses in emergency management, homeland security, and criminal justice. Bonfiglio is a part-time lecturer at SUNY Empire and the battalion captain of New York City's only hazardous materials battalion. They will be joined by SUNY Empire faculty and students who were New York City emergency personnel on 9/11/01.
