We thought something like this would bring us together against a common threat, 20 years later the taliban is back in power and we’re at each others throats over stupid shit.

I remember this day 20 years ago so vividly. I was with my great grandparents. My great grandpa a war veteran . He knew instantly when he saw the 2nd plane. He sat me on his lap and what he said may help some others reading my comment. He said, " There is true evil in this world. The important thing is how you respond to it. You can fight with violence, which leads only to more hate and a new form of evil. Or you can push through this life and fight it by spreading love. Love is the true way to battle evil. "

I remember sitting in school, teacher turned on the tv and watched the plane hit. To all the Americans lost this day, big love from Canada to them and their families.

I wish the nation he knows still existed, because it is the one I grew up in and miss more than I can put into words.

“That is the nation I know” brought tears to my eyes thinking about we were brought together that day and now how divided we are 20 years later.

Remind me, who was it that responded to 9/11 by invading the wrong country?

I lost my beloved uncle to this tragedy. It still hurts today. How can I forget the way I cried finding out that I will never get piggy rides from this uncle ever again? Luckily I had the support of all my sisters and my brother and even my parents as I started to live without him.

I was 20 years old and woke up just in time to turn on the tv and see the second plane hit live. I'd never been that shocked before and haven't been since. Rest in peace, my fellow Americans.

President Bush made a comment to then "President-Elect" Obama during their transition of power: "as Former Presidents, we all want to see you succeed"! That's the approach all of us as Americans need to bring back!

It’s uncanny seeing George W Bush address the nation 20 years later. Weird feeling of alternative universe.

I’m going to skip the political debate and just say a day like this puts everybody together. Nobody deserved to die that day. Hopefully one day we can all Join hands instead of driving a red line on compassion

Advisor to President Bush: “Sir, of the 19 hijackers, 15 were citizens of Saudi Arabia, 2 were from the United Arab Emirates, 1 was from Lebanon, and 1 was from Egypt.”

President Bush: “So you’re saying we should attack Iraq and Afghanistan?”
