WORST GAME Graphics Downgrades From Trailer To Release

Visuals aren’t everything when it comes to video games, but sometimes developers set the bar a bit too high when they first reveal their latest passion projects. A few games looked so good, that you could swear that they were in development for the next generation of gaming, never mind the PS4, and Xbox One. Things change though, as these games slowly lost their visual fidelity closer to the launch of the game. Things started to look a bit more dull, and although some of them still looked great, they did look better before.

For so many graphical downgrades from trailer to game the biggest factor is the lighting. In some cases the level of detail in the game is actually better than in the trailer, but because the lighting is less realistic it doesn't look as good.

I JUST watched another video on a different channel and my only complaint was that he didn’t show what he was talking about on screen with a side-by-side or an a/b, or anything. First few minutes in your video; clear side-by-side comparison, awesome! Thanks

The reason most big companies downgrade games is to the customer can run the game, if there was let say far cry, there’s a lot of trees and extreme lighting, on console that would take a massive hit in performance and run like shit, downgrading it results in a better and smooth experience. But companies have no reason to show something that will never be, if you’re going to make a game. Make it compatible instead of building something different.

You got no idea from what you are talking about. The Witcher 3 demo used a light engine that looked shit at night so they changed it to a better working one.

Am I the only one who thought the retail version of Dark souls 2 looked better than trailer. That kinda of lighting would have given me a headache.
