well some studies have shown that people who use metaphors, memory palace and songs to learn such things tend to remember it for a very long time in comparison to plain memorization. According to Barbara Oakley(mind for numbers) flashcards are best to revise the proper solving methods of some questions or revising your metaphors and analogies and memory palaces.

That's why I don't make hundreds of pages of pretty notes
If you making pretty notes and you understand it? Nice!

Otherwise it's learning nothing and "thinking" about being productive
