I’ve gotten to know Alex since the recording, and he’s genuinely a good dude. It’s easy in our culture to get sucked into student loan debt and endless school because we don’t teach about the consequences. I really think he is going to do what’s necessary and turn this financial situation around.

I think it’s brave to come onto a show and have your financial life dissected. Good luck to this fellow

I dated a woman with a fine arts degree. She spent 7 years and 300.000 dollars in debt. Only to be working at a coffee shop

I had a professor in college who sat down with me when I was a senior to talk about my life plans. He was my advisor and knew I had my eye on a PHD in theology and I was going to be an academic. Keep in mind he also had a PHD in theology. He told me he really liked his job, but as the chair of the department he received 5xs the applications than jobs open every year. He strongly encouraged me to take a year off and think about it, and in that year I fell in love with social work. I will never forget him telling me "you can love something a lot, and make a place for that in your life. That doesn't have to mean it's your job." I really wish that more creative kids heard that message. There are so many places where you can exercise your creativity and improve your craft while still having the day job.

I'm sorry I know it's serious but when Caleb said "this is one of the worst financial situations we've seen in a long time" and the dude deadpanned "you're welcome" I lost it

I dated a girl who was traveling the world while in grad school. I asked how she afforded it and she said student loans. I got out asap. No way I’m paying for that crap.

After coming across Caleb’s channel, I now spend my money as if my bank statements will be audited by Caleb himself, even though I live on the other side of the world. If only I had this sort of accountability a few years ago!

This channel has helped me understand how everyone I know and classmates afford to go on nice trips and do cool shit all the time. It's just all on credit.

Caleb telling people "you're not a credit card person" is seeming more and more like a doctor telling a patient that they have a sickness.

This is why financial literacy is very important at a young age and needs to be a 4-year requirement in high school.

Extremely happy I stumbled across this channel! I’ve been an active alcoholic and addict for the majority of my adult life but decided to get clean back in 2014. And instead of buying booze and drugs I became a MASSIVE materialistic consumer! Struggled with managing my credit and money for a while and just started to put it back together in 2021 and life has gotten so much better! Keep doing great work Caleb!

Do you ever make follow ups a year later and see how they're doing? Would be really interesting 😊

This is what happens when high schools focus entirely on telling every kid they need to go to college and not enough time teaching kids financial responsibility. College turns into an experience and not an investment.

I see some comments on here saying how they wish they found your channel in their 20s. Well I’m 21 and it makes me glad I found your channel this early. As a college student myself, I wish the best of luck to Alex.

It’s dope seeing you do this service, not just for the auditee, but for your viewers. Love the bluntness yet care you put into teaching financial literacy, something US schools don’t spend nearly if no time at all.

The one feeling I hated when I was in debt was that the money I was making didn't belong me and it had to go to someone else. Such a weight off the shoulders once I was debt free

Hearing Caleb read out a 5 minute list of fast food restaurants has the obvious effect on my lunch preferences . . . even though I'm one of those guys who PACKS A SANDWICH
