the Fiber Ninja would have a few things to say about your network setup.

This one of the first "home network tours" I've been on youtube that has really impressed me! Amazing work dude!

I'm going to school for a bachelor in computer science and I have to say your system has everything I'm learning about. Hubs to switches, servers, etc.... Pretty cool. It will be cool to build that one day for my future home.

Infrastructure engineer here. This is madness. I run a mesh network (nethear orbi) and can stream uncompressed 4K hdr 5.1 Blu-ray from one side of the house to the other. This looks like the kind of mad setup one of my mechanical engineers would come up with. I run a Switch/Xbox/PS4/shield downstairs, gaming pc and synology nas upstairs. Blisteringly fast and completely out of sight.

Great use of space. Definitely liked how you're controlling the air in your closet -- I run into too many installs where airflow management is basically non-existent.

That is a huge amount of tech for a home. Looks like you put a lot of time and effort into it. :-)

This video came up after I was watching a QNAP setup vid... Its nice to see that there are people out there doing things right. Too many to list from this video, but everything was smooth down to battery back-up/power-regulation & heat exhaust from network room. LOL security! Once you start its addicting! When more network cable is used on cameras than PCs, toys ect... A+ in my book!

I was VERY impressed with the sophistication of your network.

Has it become self-aware yet? :)

Now I know why you call it the geek pub 🤓 seriously I’m impressed and I think I’ve to watch this video for maybe 20 times just to understand the amount of time, effort, knowledge and money that has been invested.. keep up the good work my friend ..I’m an IT engineer as well but only now I’ve realised that after my 13 years of experience I’m still on the door step !!
Wish you the best always 👍👍

Nice! Anyone that says to use more expensive gear is either rich as all hell or don't have a mortgage and children. Well done mate!

Pretty rad setup. I just moved in to a new house in January and have been building it out to my dream specs. Right off the bat I put in a 4 post APC rack, had a dedicated 30amp circuit ran for my 3000kva Rack UPS, and wired the home for ethernet. I had Fios at my Condo, but they didnt offer it here. I had to settle on a 100/10mg Cable Modem. I tied that to my Palo Alto firewall. I have Lan/DMZ/Internet zones on it. That goes out to my 2x24 port stacked 3750G-POE switch. I have at least a dozen vlans. Then for servers I have a Poweredge R710 running as an iSCSI San with a pair of R610's as ESXi hosts. I have a myriad of virtual machines. But most important to my is my Cisco CallManager enviornment, since thats what I do for a living. I also have a couple of 2800 routers to use for lab use as voice gateways.

In my office I have a DX80, 8865, and a classic 1930's phone tied to an ATA. I have two Meraki AP's placed in the house. I have a Nest Thermostat, and 4 Nest smoke detectors. Then I also have 7 Lorex cameras placed throughout the house. I'm not super happy with the NVR, so I need to find a good replacement. I need to do a tour of my own when the house is finally complete.

Any fear in someone messing with your modem outside your home? It looked like the Ethernet cable was exposed outside the enclosure.

Oh and would love a vid about your software setup for ESXI. I hardly know anything about that topic.

Do you have those alarm fog machines? So when the alarm goes off it fills the house with fog so you can't see. Or do you have some strobes?
