This is not necessary. You can do a regular two strand twist and it will still loc.

You can 2 strand and just let them be. That hair starts to loc from the ends to an imaginary demarcation line where they will never loc. I observe this with my first set of locs. Once the buds at the ends hang off, let them be because that indicates they are sealing. I love the process.

I know mine will loc up cause when I have my cornrows in for 2-3 months my hair at the roots and tips loc up

I asked my hairdresser for comb coils which shoe couldn’t do so I just told her to do two strands, she braided them at the root and then started to two strand, will my hair still loc (will it just take forever💀)
