Really enjoying seeing projects and vids from all 3 of the teams, with all of them being finished and completed to a very high standard!

The first time I helped pour steps in the 1960s was a personal nightmare for me. It was so a blind person had a safe path to travel. The steps had to be carefully measured and the width had to be wide enough and with safe sides so she did not have surprise hazards. Inside I wanted it to be the safest she could have. The inspector loved it and the blind woman was grateful. Still it took some time for me to relax.

I got to so a similar stair pour. Instead of the 4500 bag mix, what mix would you diy? Portland, #60 silica and 3/8 aggregate 1:2:3? Looking for the best looking concrete steps I can make! 😀

Surprised didn't pour it all around whole landing, but other side looks like needs whole new pour done or maybe pavers or some flagstone
PS- great job whole team 💕👍

For someone that's trying to learn how to bid concrete, would you mind telling how you bid steps or stairs? Is by the s.f. as you do your slabs or is it by the step and l.f.? And can you give us a ballpark on how much you bid this job for? Thank you and great job as always!

Even though the steel is a tight fit it should be have epoxy. Those rebar/steel dowels will pull out….. for 1/2” rod you need to drill 5/8” hole and use epoxy

Should’ve added a control joint on the corner of the step

Wouldn't it be easier to have the concrete delivered by truck? Making it with bags is way more expensive. Connecting the old concrete to the new concrete, i normally secure the rebar rods with Ramset (epoxy), let it set, no problem.

You should re glaze the rest of the old concrete to look new again.

Guys! Take it from a hacking old man. Never be too proud to wear a real mask when your doing that kind of cutting/grinding. Your lungs will thank you later.
