During 2019, Litra advanced its light to Litra Torch 2.0, and Lume Cube recently released the Lume Cube 2.0. We wanted to revisit our review and see how the two action lights compare.

I have the libra 2.0 after reading and watching reviews. Your review is great and I am very pleased with my choice. I think I got more bang for the buck.

I'll probably get one of each. The LumeCube's app is helpful for when you're using the light for stills photography because you have more fine-grained control, but I like the increased output of the Litra which makes it good for urban exploration, so I will likely just buy one of each for different reasons. Thanks for the comparison. But I thought that one of them had 10 levels of brightness and one only had 3. That's another factor to consider if that's the case.

The app and USB-C make the Lumecube compelling. It also has the Bluetooth flash sync, that can connect to your phone, so that’s another nice feature. However, I’m really thinking about the Libra, as I want it for a Macro setup close to the camera, so that won’t mean as much to me.

I own two Litra Torch lights and I love them. I do wish the battery would last longer, however they have pass-through charging so you can charge and use them at the same time.

I have both the Lira and the Lume cube... I have always felt that Litra Knew their buyers better. Who dives to 30ft and says "I better head back to the surface" NOBODY!

I think the fact the Litra doesn't have a remote control (or an app) is a bit of a let-down and makes it really only useful to put it into areas where you can reach it. If you're doing vlogging, and the light is on top of the camera, this probably isn't a big deal but if you're a photographer using these as maybe background (or key) lights, having the remote control from the app may be a big plus. Since I may need multiple lights like this, I might just get one of each and get the best of both worlds I guess. I could use the LumeCube more for photography because of the remote and fine-grained light output control, and the Litra for video where the light will likely be within reach and because of its longer run time.

Does any one of this have continuous power with light out.

Have both and both of first version for photogrammetry ... Definitively Litra : more diffused and more accurate on light color.

Great comparison, was looking for this
I guess if the Litra could be set with the phone and not only would have three steps it would be the best buy
For me it looks that the Lume Cube has a lot more possibilities in setting the brightness, it also has a low light mode, ideal for long exposure photography, where the Litra is way to bright for that

The output from the Litra seals the deal for me, though I would prefer if it had USB-C

I did similar tests on the Lume Cube 2.0. I got 350lux at 1m at 100% and 440 lux in super mode via the app.
Also, can you show the actual CRI numbers, 1-15? I would like to see how they handle R9 and 12.

I am currently looking at buying high powered cube lights - this review here doesn't make sense to me. The lume Cube 2.0 is rated bt the manufacturer at 750 lux and the Litra Torch 2.0 at 500 lux. Yet this reviewer states that the Lume Cube 2.0 only registers 256 Lux in his test (33% of what the manufacturer states). The only conclusion that I can come to is that either he got a dud lumecube 2.0 or performed the test at the wrong setting...there is just no way that the Lume Cubes 2.0 would be this far off the manufacturers stated output...?

The Litra Torch 2.0 wins out for me. I'll be using two of them and a pair of Litra Pros over the next few days camping in the Scottish wilderness both shooting video as well as just for just being able to see around the camp at night, haha. I do wish they had a Type C socket for charging, though. :)

You forgot to mention that Lume Cube 2.0 has a special ultra low illumination mode for long time open shutter exposures. Does the Litra 2.0 have this feature?
