I use a small curved bypass pruner to safely cut suckers. It protects the other stems because itpush3s them out of the way.

Im confused because a lot of videos i have been watching about Determinate varieties say to remove the suckers..Ive never removed anything other then brown leaves. But I'm used to growing up north and now this is my first time growing in Florida where its much hotter outside and last year i didnt have any luck with my tomatoe plants because the sun killed them and they didnt even bare fruit or flowers...Nothing...so now im nervous about these Bonnie Plants Better Bush Hybrid Tomatoes Determinate i just bought today...i need some advice someone since im going to begin placing them in pots tomorrow..thanks!!!

How do i determine what stem will produce?
My tomato plants are more like bushes .
I want to thin out the usless growth to allow the energy to grow more fruit.

Im just glad I'm not the only one with 5gal buckets everywhere. Lol. My cherry is in a fabric 5gal and it's just short while the others are tall and flowering. I have one little baby on one. Should I pluck it so the plant doesn't focus it's energy on just that one?

I recently planted a roma, a cherry, and a regular tomato plants into the ground. They are getting really bushy but don't seem to be getting taller. Should be pruning the suckers off?! They are flowering like crazy.

You're not getting much fruit because you're not pruning off your suckers..
