2020 Specialized Turbo Levo SL vs. Giant Reign on the dirt jumps | Santos MTB Park | Fat Tire Fest

It's day two of the Fat Tire Festival at Santos Mountain Bike Park in Ocala, Florida and after some serious miles on day one we decided to try out an E-bike from Specialized and see what all the fuss was about.

The 2020 Specialized Turbo Levo SL was able to double our power output until it caps out at 20 mph. Which was great for the trails at Santos where you need to put down some serious power with little room to work. Did I mention that they only weighed 6 pounds more than my enduro rig?! The geometry was slack yet nimble and I had no difficulty catching flight on the E-bike.

Unfortunately the price tag is a bit steep... the bikes we were on would run about $10,000!

I see a lot of folks online hating on E-bikes for ruining the sport but it might just be the future if they can keep lowering the weight of these beasts!
I would highly recommend taking one out for a ride if given the opportunity.

You notice there are a lot of sl for sale on pinkbike. I think a regular levo (I've never ridden an sl) might be more fun and it's hard to pass up the extra speed and power.

Ok, the extra battery is not very heavy, but it would still be 1.95 kilogram (4.3 pounds) less.
