I generally hate these too, but they don’t glow all the time, they glow under blue light. They can live on normal lives IF the right person gets them.

I would have never found the hobby if it wasn’t for GloFish. Gold Fish get treated worse at pet stores and even have a bowl named after them. There are bad fish keepers in the world . But because you have GloFish doesn’t mean are a bad human as you imply above . Hate on GloFish is overrated, overdone, clickbait and just material for the bullies in the hobby.. do better Dustin ✌️

Not great but a much better alternative to the tattooed or dyed tetras. That was really cruel and resulted in a lot of fish dying from the harsh treatment.

I think from my experience they do get treated bad like bettas and goldfish however I managed to educate some owners I met with this type of fish how generally treat this fish some scuff at the suggestion some don’t I’ve witnessed some people do a 180 and start treating this fish with the decency there lives deserve with bigger tanks, live plants but can’t still stop them with the nerds gravel though haha I think instead of hating of the fish we should educate people on how to treat this fish better and also extreme breeding like glow fish is not really an uncommon thing in the fish community a lot of fish change from there original species like goldfish with there multiple fancy designs and the Betta fish with its wild colors plus I seen that some glow fish are actually better than some other glow fish some are breed for the color and they live normal lives however there’s a community who inject colors to make some fish glow which sounds horrible not gonna lie anyways hope your doing well peace
