Have you ever seen a beef shin in your butcher shop? In this video, i'm going to show you how to smoke a beef shin in an offset smoker for beginners!

Make sure you've subscribed to our channel so you don't miss our next videos!

In this video, i'll take you through step by step how to smoke a beef shin and later in the video i'll show you what I served it with!

You may also see beef shin sold as beef shank or beef hammer too!

For reference, here's how I smoked it below:

- Trim any excess fat and silver skin off
- Apply mustard/olive oil to help bind your rub and season in your favourite beef rub
- Set up your smoker to run at around 275F/135c
- Smoke for around 4-5 hours until bark has set, spritzing every hours or so until an internal of around 160F/70c in the thickest part
- Wrap in 2 layers of foil and add either some stock, tallow or for this one we added some Pirate Life Coffee Porter
- Continue smoking until probing tender around 210F/99c
- Rest and pull

You definitely have to smoke a beef shin/beef hammer, they make for some amazing pulled beef!

I am currently doing dry July. This will be what I do to “break the drought” Gonna be perfect with a nice Shiraz. Awesome cook again, as always.

I have never considered smoking a beef shank but this looks amazing.
I wouldn't dare drown this in sauce and put it on a bun like us Americans like to do with pork butt.
I might just try this on top of creamy polenta or roast garlic mashed potatoes.

Looks great. I haven't been able to do a decent brisket but I think I'll have a better chance of making this cut work.
