Destiny 2: Lightfall Review

Destiny 2: Lightfall reviewed by Travis Northup on Xbox Series X/S & PC, also available on PlayStation.

Lightfall is a disappointing expansion with a campaign that falls flat on its face, an underwhelming new destination, and only a few new standout activities to take on. But Strand and the new Tormentor enemy are great additions to the sandbox, and some of the endgame activities, including the raid, are a blast. No doubt Lightfall’s shortcomings are made more painful by immediately following The Witch Queen and its strong post-launch updates.

The story felt like a anime training arc. The entire story you were working on learning strand and weren’t able to stop anything really.

The worst thing Bungie ever did was seperate from Activision. It’s pretty clear they miss Vicarious Visions and High Moon Studios.
Since then they haven’t been able to truly hit it out of the park.
Strand was pretty clearly supposed to be part of the Witch Queen. Without it the campaign really is only around an hour and a half to two hours in length.

What crazy is warframe is trying something different and unique with their upcoming update. While destiny 2 doing the same thing for 3 expansion.

The story left you with more questions than answers for sure. Saying that, overall with the QOL changes and content, im loving Lightfall. The Destiny Raids are generally amazing, and always one of the most enjoyable things to do in gaming

This expansion was a MASSIVE letdown not only as an og Destiny player but as a titan, pvp, and endgame player. The raid was the cherry on top, this is the last DLC im buying for D2.

Nothing has yet to beat Taken King when it comes to content. Hopefully Bungie puts some of that money they made from Sony to use next expansion, D2 has so much potential.
