You might think that with the year 2022 provided to Destiny 2, that Lightfall was going to have the whole world talking and.. It did! With Destiny 2 hitting its all time highest concurrent playerbase on steam alone and the world watching as the witness and Calus were sure to meet their end you might think that it was all but over for any chances of Bungie missing.. But, truth is a funny thing after all. In the announcement of Lightfall, the promo art and tone, the general cadence of the dlc would change from this dark and world ending eerie feeling, to a futuristic bright landscape in the new trailers. This would coincide with the announcement that the Final Shape was coming, a controversial decision given that Bungie didn’t ever want to abide Activisions 10 year plan when they split ways. The new Lightfall and the year of its many, many mistakes would prove so damaging to Bungie's reputation that not only was almost 10% of the company laid off after a 3.6 billion dollar acquisition from Sony, but things weren’t looking good. In a year with a deep sea monster, fishing added, 2 dungeons, a remastered raid, eris becoming a hive god, the ghost of riven, and the 15th wish.. To see that lightfall would drop to one of the lowest player counts of all time for destiny was shocking to say the least, but anyone who had played destiny 2 a bunch would also tell you that this wasn’t entirely surprising either. The playerbase had expressed annoyance at many decisions made and a seemingly hard to reach Bungie. Sony clearly felt the same as they threatened to completely replace bungie heads if things didn’t change and change was all that was coming. The Final Shape would release shortly after Bungies free Into the Light event and with its release came that satisfying feeling, the one many destiny players yearned for, a true finale and ending to the Light and Darkness Saga, The Lightfall We Finally Got!

The Dread and their units (Mainly Subjugators and Harbingers) are some of the most interesting enemy design Bungie has cooked up since the Elites from Halo. They act like Rhulk whilst looking completely unrecognizable from him in both appearance and function. I cannot agree with the take that they were bad enemies to fight when it makes sense that the Witness would beef up the numbers of their clone army who's imprint became the blueprint for.

I know it's Day 1 Raid when the red bow tie makes an appearance. Seeing where you and Grey have taken D1R coverage has been so cool. From throwing up a few twitch feeds in your room to set pieces, fun giveaways, dual coverage on you tube and twitch and keeping up the energy hour after hour, amazing. I give y'all a 10/10! Man, I get it I look forward to your other content and you should expand.... Buuut I still can't wait to see you break out the red bow tie!

I will never understand why Bungie feels that complete sunsetting is necessary for content. Just provide a cinematic or a timeline mission to let new players experience those old seasons and what their lore impacts are. Especially because for a lot of people the story of the game is as important (or more) as the gameplay itself.

what’s crazy to me is that my least favorite part of TFS is literally just the fact that the witness’ monolith is visually dark and not easy to see the details… I just wish it was illuminated better so we could actually see how intimidating it is

Warlock has proven to be a buildcrafters dream. This whole dlc showed made so many people start running all 3 classes though and I love it. So much build variety especially with class items on Hunter. Poor Titans though 😢
