This video shows you an easy way to tie the perfection loop knot for connecting your leader line to a hook or lure.

This type of loop knot is great when tying a hook to the end of a line, and it's very popular among the fly fishing gurus for creating loop to loop connections in their leader/tippet.

Do you think with that tag end sticking out at an exact 90 degree angle like that it would interfere with hookup rates on a circle hook at all? Seems like even if the tag end is trimmed down low like you did, it could catch on a fish’s mouth and interfere with a hookset or perhaps turn the point away if that makes any sense. I like this knot because it’s so fast to tie and so easy to properly tighten down with heavier leaders. But I have been blowing a lot of tarpon lately. Seems like with a tag end pointing up or down would be less likely to interfere, or maybe it’s just very bad fortune on my part. Only thing I can think is to just trim off the entire tag with a set of nail clippers because I don’t believe this knot would slip, would be more likely to break first judging by the way it looks.

I also like how you included the part about pulling the standing line so you don’t end up with a really big loop, nice attention to detail.
