"The only sort of killing the Bible doesn't promote is the sort that is done out of mercy." That has to be one of the best lines you've ever put to video.

My uncle on his death-bed an hour before he died, his sister was trying to tell him something and he pipes up and said: "Spit it out Mary, I haven't got all day!" He was a very funny guy right to the end.

"Students have questions, we have answers."
Proceeds to disable comments across the entire channel, preventing students from addressing the alleged answers, let alone ask questions in the first place. Oh, creationists...

After asking my late Grandfather what happens to us all after we die he told me that: 'Worms feast upon our decaying corpses.' I was about eight years old.

_"Our mission is to reveal God's truth to as many as possible."_
If you have to reveal God's truth to people, then it's probably not "God's truth".

Worked in elderly care for over 20 years, met many dying people over the years.
Religious people are usually the ones who have the most anxiety at the end of life.

My partner of 22 years didn't whine and cry out at the end at hospice care. All I remember is quiet dignity, and the culmination of a wonderful life that I will take with me into the void. I cry, and smile, and hope I will be as accepting... Thank you, Aron, for fighting the good fight!

My wife and I have been happily together, without religion, for almost 25 years now.

Always laugh at the idea that not believing in god makes one miserable, when people who do believe in god are waiting every second of their lives for the rapture to happen and for the world to be obliterated. Because nothing screams living a fulfilling life more than living a life where you're just sticking around waiting for it to end in catastrophe.

I learned how discomforting the fundamentalist Christian message about death can be while sitting with a friend who was dying of cancer WAY too young. Fundamentalist theology might be comforting to some, but my friend was terrified. She had been so inculcated with the narrative, she was sure she must have done something wrong. It became clear that she interpreted her fear of dying as meaning she didn’t have enough faith in Jesus. Otherwise, why would she be so afraid? The things she had heard in church provided no comfort to her. It just filled her with self-doubt, self-recrimination, and terror. She desperately didn’t want to die, and begged me to take her back to the hospital so the doctors could cure her.

As you can imagine, this was very, very hard, but I continued to visit her for whatever comfort I could provide. I wanted so much to help her, but what could I say? There was nothing I could tell her about heaven or hell that I could say with conviction.

I did eventually find a way to help her, and the transformation was remarkable. It would be too difficult to explain in detail, but it mostly involved reassuring her with all the confidence I could muster that _everything_ would be alright, and not to be afraid. It seems so trite, but it was what she needed to hear. I KNOW that I helped her to accept what was happening, and she passed away peacefully a few days later.

The thing that infuriated me, though, was when I attended her funeral, and had to listen to her minister tell the congregation that E____ was NOT afraid of dying, because she knew that soon she would be resting in the arms of Jesus, blah, blah, blah. It was such a lie, and I felt he was just setting up others to have to suffer the same self-doubt and trauma.

I want to be fair, that his message might provide comfort to some people, but I had seen that it could also fail miserably, and wonder how he could speak with such confidence about things he could not know.

"I'm sorry I wasn't the Godly man you deserve." That's the part that's infuriating. Religion teaches you that you will never be good enough, that you will always somehow be inferior. No matter what you do, how good you are, it's never enough. According to them you're born a sinner, automatically out of the gate, and you have to spend the rest of your life proving your worth to some imaginary being's, whose approval can only be given through intermediary that somehow talk to him. That's some fucked up brainwashing shit right there.

Parker - "I'm so sorry that I wasn't the godly man you deserved"
Aron - "oh shaddup"
I about died 😂😂😂

"Parker" repeats "I don't wanna die!"… as if christians don't do that. For people who think they're about to get the greatest thing ever, it sure is interesting how hard christians fight to avoid getting there.

A few years back, I had a Heart Attack. While waiting for the surgical procedure that would let me live, a nurse did ask me if I would like a clergy member to come and converse with me... I laughed so hard! I thought I was going to have another cardiac episode! The nurse couldn't understand that I WAS NOT AFRAID of the potential for my own death.
Why do religious persons have so much fear of death? Because they know their beliefs are uncertain.

Aron, I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and with much love for the work that you do. Jehovah's Witnesses strongly discourage higher education and teach anti evolution and genesis literalism. However, because of you, along with Hitchens, Matt Dillahunty, Dawkins and Lloyd Evans I finally decided to leave my cult and study Evolutionally biology at a secular university at the age of 35. Your videos always seemed way more persuasive than the Elder's Sunday talks but as any skeptic should do I feel I need to study what and verify what I am learning especially when a lot of the time I don't fully understand the vocabulary you use when talking about evolution. So I have enrolled and been accepted into my Evolutionary Biology course for next year. I hope it helps put my very slim doubts about atheism and lingering indoctrination to bed and help me understand some of the more complex proofs that you give.

Again, thank you so much for the hard work and dedication you put into your videos. I'm just writing this comment to tell you that not all of your audience are non-believers, and not all of your words to the non-believers fall on deaf ears. Thank you for helping me break free from the shackles of religion. If there is one thing I still believe the bible said, it's "you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Learning the truth about evolution has certainly set me free, and I hope studying at university level will only strengthen my freedom.

"Why do I feel such shame and guilt?"

Because you were raised in a religion that exploits and exacerbates shame and guilt.

"If your parents let you take sex ed", the fact that that's an actual question that people like me have to answer, "no they didn't" shows that you certainly know your audience 😂 Thanks for giving more education than I've had the first 30 years of my life!
