Svetlana I wish you and your fiance the very best in living in the States. This American man met my wife while going to sea on American ships in Novorossiysk in 1977. We got married in Leningrad two years later. We then settled in Oregon for 13 years before moving to Alaska in 1994. It was an adjustment, especially at first, for my wife, but she just fit right in and it was good for her and for us. She studied to become a beautician and we bought her a beauty shop when we got to Alaska. We were not blessed with children, but we had a few much loved dogs, like she used to have in Russia. We had been married 36 years when, 8 years ago, my sweet wife passed away. I was very very lucky to have had her all those years, so that tempers my sadness somewhat. My wife loved it here, but she also still loved Russia and had many other Russians among her friends here. It worked for her and for us and I hope that it works for you too. Take care and good luck.

Moved from England to USA been here 15 years Started off in Santa Monica now in AZ did our own paperwork was told a few years but make some mistakes leaving etc enjoy your new life its not that bad but is what you make it hope this helps a little look forward to the updates thank you!

Sveta, I’m American, lived here all my life. It really hasn’t changed that I can tell except a little more expensive. If you get restless waiting on your green card, you can travel around to different states, lots to choose from. Welcome, Sveta, we’re happy to have you and hope you will be happy here for a long time. 👍🏻😊

Good luck with the move Svetlana... If you ever visit Boston I would be happy to be your tourguide:) We have a lot of history here, and great museums and restaurants.... I hope someday I will be able to visit Russia and see St. Petersburg.

it depends where city you going most of the big cities have some big problems like drugs homelessness immigration inflation etc etc.

America hasn't changed all that much in 6 years. It has for some people who are right of center and are very vocal on social media.
If you're not political, and don't listen to everything you read and hear, everything will be fine.
You're there to be with your Man, after all. Everything else is insignificant.
The world is a big place. There's more to it than America and Russia. You will both have options after you get your citizenship.

Russia is having a good summer so far, unlike western Europe. Personally I don't like the US (or Anglo Saxon countries generally) but it's good you're moving for love and not because you dislike Russia. Perhaps you and your soon-to-be husband may live in Russia one day 😁

The States have not changed that much in six years. A few cities have gotten better and some have gotten worse, but that is the story of America throughout the last 150 years. Move to the states, pick a good place to live and enjoy it.

Good choice going to the US. Not perfect but a lot better than staying in Russia. I think the Russian Federation will break up in the next one/two years.
And economy is getting worse and standard of living. I don’t want to go there. Love you Svetlana 🥰 take care!
