People: How do you make an old PC faster.
Apple: Throw it away and buy a new one.

Just disable the PXE boot option in BIOS

Easy, put an RTX 2080 Ti in it, because when your life flashes before your eyes, you'll want as much of it possible to be in Ray Tracing.

My man Jay pulls a 850 SSD and a thread ripper (model) CPU out his wallet. I love that you do things like this keeps the videos fun less serious.

Just put an 8th gen Intel i7 sticker on it. That'll add at least 10 horsepowers.

Wrong. The easiest way to make an old computer faster is to paint sick flames on the chassis.

Disable PXE Boot in BIOS that will shave off several seconds of wait time in booting up for your brother-in-law :D

Hey Jay,

Why don't you have any tutorial videos about post- build. For example, updating BIOS, testing components, changing Memory speed, installing drives / Windows, adding additional HHD / SSD, configurating the like that.

I have found very few videos about this stuff, its usually all about building the PC and the video ends once the power is switched on.

You're always asking for suggestions on videos to make- I think these would be great as the topics are seldom covered in detail and it would help first time builders, thanks.

I think it may be interesting to show a full laptop upgrade path. That is, show how you can upgrade your RAM, processor, hard drive, as well as cleaning the fan, replacing the thermal paste on both the GPU and CPU in a laptop. I find that a lot of folks do not know that they can upgrade all of these things and buy the components second-hand via eBay and Newegg and give their laptop a new lease on life.

As a further suggestion, show folks how to use the Intel "Product Specifications" tool to teach people how to find their CPU socket type, TDP and then how to locate the highest-spec CPU which will fit with their laptop (and its acceptable power limit). The Intel tool can also be used to figure out if their laptop is using a soldiered CPU or one which can be replaced.

Here is a good example:
A Dell laptop my friend had was showing its age -- had an old Intel Core i3-2310M processor from 2011:

Using that information, I was able to query all CPUs this machine could support and got a cheap second-hand Intel Core i7-2640M processor:

Maybe show your viewers on how to use CPU-Z to read the RAM specification and how to find their motherboard manual/specification and upgrade the RAM via Newegg, etc.

I used this method to bump the laptop memory from 4GB to 16GB and the laptop had a new lease on life!
