Moving 2nd term to other side n simplify with substitution. Gives.
X = + -√21+5 ; (-9+ -√65)/2

If u take lcm and simplify
x^4-x^3-82x^2-4x+16=0
Divide with x^2 then
x^2+16-(x+4/x) -82=0
Let t=x+4/x
t^2-t-90=0
t=10, -9
x=(-9±√65) /2, 5±√21👍

We have to solve x^4-x^3-82x^2-4x+16=0. Divide both sides by x^2 and let a=x+4/x and solve for a the equation a^2-a-90=0. We'll get a=-9 and then x=(-9+or-sqrt65)/2 and a=10 that gives x=5+or-sqrt21

The equation simplifies to x^4-x^3-82x^2-4x+16=0 > x^2+16/x^2 -(x+4/x) =82 > (x+4/x)2 -(x+4/x) -90=0 > x+4/x=-9, 10. If x+4/x=-9, x=1/2[-9+/-√(65)]. If x+4/x=10, x=5 +/-√(21).

x^4 - x^3 - 82x^ 2 - 4x + 16 = 0
let x = 2t and dividing 8t^2 => 2t^2 - t - 41 - 1/t - 2/t^2 = 2(t^2 + 1/t^2) - (t + 1/t) - 41 = 0
let u = t + 1/t => 2(u^2 - 2) - u - 41 = 2u^2 - u - 45 = (u - 5)(2u + 9) = 0
=> u = {5, -9/2} => t = { (5±√21)/2, (-9±√65)/2 } => x = { (5±√21), (-9±√65) }
