I don't know what's worse. Getting arrested for shoplifting or getting arrested for shoplifting at a dollar store.

He threatened her with a charge for not answering a question that could incriminate her while she is in custody. Seems problematic.

The officer said "I appreciate your honesty" LMAO 🤣

Said she had the right to remain silent and then threatens her w a charge. I hope she fought this.

"you have the right to remain silent"
"I choose not to speak about my boyfriend."
"I will take you to jail if you don't tell me what I want to know"

Wish a chick named Irony would’ve been with her, that would’ve taken the cake!

I’m no lawyer or legal expert but it is very concerning to have the officer threatening her with charges right after he read miranda to her and her clearly stating she didn’t want to answer that question.

She said I love you.
He replied Get me out.
Pitiful.

“You have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions”
“Answer my question or your going to jail for obstruction”

Honesty living up to her name. She was actually honest about everything, did not deny or fight back.

Saddest part was the lies from the officer violating her 5th amendment rights which will get the charges tossed.

This makes me sad because this reminds me of myself about 2 years ago smh. So thankful to be a year and half sober now❤️

This is INSANE. He literally says her Miranda rights and then threatens to add charges if she doesn’t answer his questions and says it’s “obstruction”. That right that there should be grounds for permanent termination. He’s corrupt or incompetent and neither should carry a weapon and determine people’s freedom

She sure did pick a winner for a boyfriend. The dude wouldn't even help her out by taking responsibility.

Seeing her shoplift tiny underwear for her child broke my heart. I am not condoning what she did. I would have given her a couple of packs if she hadn’t also shoplifted other items and bf didn’t have a pocket full of drugs. But the poor child.

She didn’t have to give his name he literally said she has the right to remain silent and then threatening her with a charge was ridiculous

This is insane. After reading her Miranda rights, the cops threats her with additional charges. Forcing someone to speak after she had the right to remain silent is a crime and grounds to be fired.

He should most definitely be fired for forcing her to answer questions just moments after having her rights red she has the right to remain silent and he told her basically she doesn’t have that right which is so wrong on so many levels

Lying to police = obstruction. Remaining silent is a right protected by the constitution (or Charter in Canada). Check yourself, bro. She's doing wrong, but so are you.

5:03 - 5:22 I am definitely not supporting the criminals here, but cops need to stop lying. The officer JUST got done saying (what we all already know) that she has the right to remain silent, meaning she is not legally compelled to incriminate herself or anyone. She actually doesn't have to answer a single question. This is protected under the fifth Amendment of the Constitution. But here he lies and forces her to answer the question "what is his name" under threat of arrest, claiming she is obstructing an investigation. This is absolutely false and right there, she has a lawsuit if she chooses to pursue it. That cop just opened the city/county up to possible financial awards for a criminal caught shoplifting. What a dummy.
