I recently did my first Solo travel in India :) I chose Varanasi as my destination and it was a wonderful experience .Initially I was a bit scared to do so considering my safety , but with good planning, safety measures it was one of the most memorable events of my life.

If you are a woman and planning your first Solo trip within India, I want to share some helpful tips for safe and successful solo travel. Stay safe and make the most of your journey!

Imp Tips - How to start solo travelling in India

1. Use a sling bang and hang it cross body for safety
2. If you are carrying a bag-pack, don't keep valuables like cash,cards etc in it
3. Dress up as per the travel destination culture, to keep away from unwanted attention
4. Make a list of all the places your would like to visit at your travel destination
5. Book a hotel with 24*7 reception
6. Book your tickets and hotel/accomodation in advance.
7. Hostels is a good option for accomodation. Some hostels also provide single rooms.
8. Read rules and regulations of your airlines prior to travelling
9. Most airlines allow 7 kg as hand baggage and 15 kgs as checkin baggage.Based on your airline standards check total weight before.
10. Carry less luggage (7kgs) as hand baggage so as to avoid delays at airport when you land.

1. Power Bank - Place in hand baggage (labtop bag ) if travelling by Flight
2. Medical Kit
3. Cash at different places
4. Offline Google Maps
5. ID proofs
5. Charger
6. Memorise your family/friends mobile number
7. Pee Safe - Allowed in purse if travelling by Flight
