1 Simple Trick to MIX LIKE A PRO (NO SKILLS REQUIRED)
Показать описание
Drop Mixing is a fast and easy way to DJ like a pro. The trick to it is just to switch songs during the “drop”. With enough practice and preparation, you too can do this DJ trick that DJ’s like Hardwell, Laidback Luke, Zedd, etc. are famous for.
And what’s nice about this technique is that it requires absolutely no beat matching skills. And so if you’re a beginner you’re in luck.

So how does this technique work?
Well it’s pretty simple.
The DJ essentially plays a song, and switches the current songs drop with the next songs drop live.
And they do this to engage and entertain the crowd.
Because most of the time, the crowd already knows how the drop of the current song will sound like.
but if you flip the mix, and switch the drops, it’ll surprise the crowd and keep them on their toes wondering what are you gonna do next.
The first thing we have to do is prepare our tracks.
So let’s go to each of our songs, and make a cue point 4 beats before the drop. This cue point is essentially the 1,2,3 jump part.
Next thing to do is to study our songs and plan where we’re going to drop mix.
So I want to transition from Fresh to the New rules remix. And so the drop of fresh is here.
And 4 beats before that is this section over here . We’re going to be triggering our next songs cue point at this area essentially replacing it.
So the volume of the current song will be hear, and the volume of the next song will be hear. When we reach the drop section. We quickly bring down the volume of the current song and at the same time trigger the hot cue point we just made and bring the next songs volume up.
But if you wanna take this technique further and do more within a mix, you can also drop mix at other sections of different songs like how I did in the intro. You just have to remember the sections where you want to drop mix.
In my demo, I wanted to drop mix at the second part of the chorus of the current song that is playing, so I kept that section in mind, in performing the mix.
Once you cue point the 123 sections of your edm songs, and know where the other 123 sections are of your other songs, you’re pretty much good to go.
You just have to work on your timing, and your volume fading action.
And what’s nice about this technique is that it requires absolutely no beat matching skills. And so if you’re a beginner you’re in luck.
