Cape isn't blind, she's simply viewing things from another dimension, hence why she keeps jumping at what looks like to us mortals a bare wall. she is powerful and must be kept in check lest she and her ratty sisters take over the world (or at least your apartment)

Most of my experience with this was kittens throwing themselves off the bed into the curtains. At which point I'd have to rescue them as they hadn't figured out how to free their claws at that point.
