My mother is currently suffering from stage 4 gastric cancer, and the hospital she is currently in (public hospital) isn't giving us the best feedback; they almost sound as if she won't make it and that the treatment is pointless; is this normal for the doctor to sound this way? Should I give up? Should I be concerned that the doctors won't take care of her if they come off like this? She is just 47 years old and had no early-stage cancer signs when she was diagnosed; at this point, it feels almost unbelievable. However, reality has set in, and my entire family is devastated by the news. How can I get the doctors to realize that I need them to at least try to help me? They only gave us six months, and I pray that God will allow her to be with us even for a year. I'm not sure how to react to this. Please aid if there are any cancer specialists reading this.
