Hi! a local here.. so I don't know if you are still in Jakarta or not, but honestly if you really want to see the view of central Jakarta you can actually go to the National Library instead, it is that building that peeking from the left side of the monument building in 5:07 . I've been there before, and trust me, the view is no joke! It is free and has a lounge (a nicer way to enjoy the view), it always open, you shouldn't wait hours to go above, and the best part is that the National Monument itself is in your landscape 😄one thing from me tho, try to not to look so touristy when trying to get there!

there are tons of public transportation that are faster than grab(cuz of the traffic) if you know the route. you can use such as Jabodebek lrt, Jakarta lrt, MRT Jakarta, Commuter rail, Jaklingko and Transjakarta

You can visit "Bundaran HI" or SCBD for shopping because in there a lot of mall and jalan Sabang for street food

If you, re still in JAKARTA, don't forget to go to TMII ( TAMAN MINI INDONESIA INDAH ), PIK ( PANTAI INDAH KAPUK ), MONUMEN PANCASILA, SCBD ( SUDIRMAN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT ) and OTHERS.

that Old church was intended only for the Dutch, no Indonesians were allowed during colonization, and during that time only ducth and Chinese can live there in its surrounding, local Indonesians were strictly prohibited. Yet, local native Indonesians could only work as couli or labors, sometimes without getting paid but to obey under long arm gun. Sad fact of history.
