Thank you for not taking 10 minutes to explain this like some would! Props to you, lol

Criminally under-liked. Quick, and informative. I was just looking up which way the blades should be facing, I had know idea the switch was an indicator of direction.

Most videos should be this length. Thanks for that.

Great video ! Just noticed that one of ceiling fans have no switch on the side. So glad it is spinning counter-clockwise all year long. 👍

The best video I found. My fan was one of those that the blades were different, I had it going clockwise but the air was coming down! Thanks for your clear explanation!

This is counterintuitive for me. As warm air naturally rises to ceiling, I was expecting that in winter we would want to push the air down...

lol, everyone complimenting the video but nobody asking WHY he suggests this. Kind of the most important piece of information..

Thanks I was wondering why my summer mode felt like winter that was because I was at the wall of the room where the cold air is pushed away I was curious about it

Well. I have two fans, and it's not clockwise or counter-clockwise since they are opposite. It's about the blades; do they cut up (rotate with the higher side gong first) or cut down? Cut up for cooling, cut down for warming. It was easy to figure out with one fan because it has the up and down switch consistent with the direction of the air flow. The other has a side to side switch and the spin is opposite of my first fan.

Thank you!!’ The clockwise/counterclockwise seems confusing, seems relative. Where is 6 o’clock? But up for updraft, down for downdraft seems right. In the up position, I can hardly feel a breeze but in the down position, I can feel a cooling effect. I think I can set my fan properly now. I was not confident before, kept changing the switch, got confused, and it all seems counterclockwise to me.

Make hella sense.... have really THOUGHT briefly why they reverse like that. Winter up summer down.

That may be the direction it should be in a well insulated cool house but in my mobile home it's blowing hot air down not cool and I've had the roof replaced insulated and metal put on it

Great video. I never run my fan in the winter, but will try. Why does a fan need to run in the winter? What else does it do, except blow cold air around?

Okay, so since my wife sleeps hot and always needs cooling, Do I always keep the fan going Counter clockwise as to never be blowing the warmer ceiling air down?
