Another great show ... in fact, my favorite thus far. Hard to believe, but just yesterday I deleted the Feisol/King Joy examples I sent you thinking Marcus wouldn't be using them! What a surprise to actually see them on the show. BTW, my Feisol is now a lamp stand!

"You can leave it on 'P' for 'Pro'"...hilarious. Poor Harry.

Thank you for this! I've been photographing over 40 years and I use exactly the same techniques right down to the "joystick" ball head. At workshops, I could easily spot the amateurs who spend tons of money on camera gear but buy "toothpick" tripods. Once, there was this kid who bragged about his--then--new Canon 50D and tried to shoot waves on the beach, only to come back after half an hour with a totally soaked camera because his tripod folded under the weight of a 300mm f/4 lens!

I have an ancient Manfrotto which serves me to this day. Bought it brand new in 1991!

Personally for me, this was one of the best so far, really enjoyable across all topics, however, of course, all shows have something for everyone! Thank you.

Just came here to show appreciation for the absolutely incredibly well done HDR filming in these shots. Absolutely done in well taste, never exaggerated, and actually adds to the images we see with the landscape around the presenter. Top notch!

Brilliant as always - the 3-set comparison was hilarious! "P for Pro"!!! I wait with baited breath for each new edition of Photography Online, and it never disappoints! Best greetings from western Canada - stay safe over there!

I'm still using the same Gitzo tripods that I've had for about 20 years. My main tripod is the G1325 which was the standard back in the day. I also have a G1548 which I used with a gimbal and 600mm lens. The gimbal and lens are long gone, but the tripod still does studio work. Never a minute of trouble from either tripod. I would agree, buy the best you can afford. Trade up if you need to. You won't regret it and a quality tripod will last a lifetime. The same applies to tripod heads. When I first started doing photography I had a Slik pistol grip head which I liked very much. These days I prefer Really Right Stuff heads. Nice to have professional looking photography shows on every month. Well done.

Great show as always, two takeaways for me, 1. When it comes to Tripod use, I'm a Noob, and 2. when it comes to photography, it's true that you get what you pay for! Might look at a 1-1 in new year after Skye week in November.

You three guys are truly characters that mesh well together and never cease to put a smile on my face, excellent info on a tripod and NOT putting the bag on the bottom of the tripod exactly what was previously suggested as the perfect fix as well and using the centerpiece...if only you were here in the USA as far as one on one lessons, looks like my dream of visiting the Misty Isle will have to wait for now ...although we are blessed to still see your excellent program and learn as much as we can LONG DISTANCE...THANK YOU again and stay blessed one and all.

The center post can be inverted and the camera attached upside down. You can get the camera right down to ground level.

Great episode. One consideration on the Kit test is that I think was overlooked is build quality. A pro camera and lens will last far longer and hold up under extreme conditions MUCH better than the low and mid budget kits. For pros and amateurs alike this is a huge consideration when buying expensive gear. Cheers!
