For anyone looking for budget options, Cannon has the M50 and the M50 MK II for under $700 and often right around $600. Both are fantastic options and are what I would reccomend to anyone with the cash to throw at them. Both have similar 24mp APS-C sensors as the cameras on this list, so the images will be very similar to what you would get from any of these options. For the real budget options, KEH and B&H both sell superb verified used equipment and many of these can be found closer to your price range. Sony has several cameras you can regularly find for under $400. These will typically have lower megapixel counts, but are still great options if you're looking for something small, light and affordable that are substantial upgrades to your phones camera or a standard point and click.

This is a fantastic video, but I wouldn't consider any of these budget uptions. "Budget" is not exactly a relative term in the world of photography. $800+ is typically considered enthusiest or midrange, even stepping into the world of mirrorless. There are still options from the last year or two that are just as capable, if not more capable, than many more expensive options becomming available in 2023. Don't let any of these elitest gatekeepers dissuade you or make you feel like you've just got to have this kind of cash to get into mirrorless photography. You can do it on a budget if you know what to look for and where to look. Follow the inspiration that brought you to this video and just keep taking pictures on whatever you can get your hands on.

Honestly you’d think for something as simple as taking a photo that it would be as simple as a click of a button, but the more I learned about photography the more complicated it seemed to become. Photography is like an Iceberg with phones, auto shooting, being the exposed tip and lenses, film vs digital, retro cameras, lighting, focal points, aperture, lighting sources, and so much more the deeper you go.
If you are new to photography and interested in getting a good camera the best thing you can do is go to a second hand camera store/repair shop. These places with have a wide range of older cameras, most of them use the products that they are selling, and you get the added protection of a return policy. Even now I find photography specialty stores your best resource for learning and avoiding mistakes when buying any camera or lens.
For example I did some research on gyro stabilizers for my Nikon z7II with the intention of shooting car video. The Stabilizers varied in price from 500 to 2000 bucks so not cheap. The sales rep ended up suggesting something completely different and much more affordable that ended up giving me great results.

In CANON R50 Dual pixel auto focus is amazing, HDR mode 10 bit video is just amazing for beginners and if someone is into vlogging....

I have Sony ZV E10. It's a good value for the price, but there is one major downside, it's the lack of IBIS. Forget about handheld shots or shots in motion, especially in low light. Electronic stabilizarion doesn't fix motion blurred frames, and kit lens, although has OSS, is quite slow at maximum f3.5 (around f5.0 in FF equivalent).
It's a great setup for an everyday street photography camera, small and light, video is great when you shoot from a tripod, but for any dynamic / handheld video work you do need to buy a gimbal.
