Valve has not confirmed anything. They shared the community-created blog post in the news section, but they do this all the time for various community events, map packs, and competitive touraments. All you have to do is email the correct person at Valve and send them the desired text and image. I know this, because even I got a blog post submitted at one point for the KnightComp 6v6 tourney, so it's not a super high bar to pass. It's not like Valve wrote any of it.

I like the cinematic use of Serverblight IP, especially in reference to the decay and neglect of the game by Valve.

For some reason, the Serverblight fits really well in that kind of setting/circumstance. A virus that thrives off of the mistreatment of its natural habitat.

Valve did not confirm any "Big" or "Huge" Updates, this happens all the time, like with Frontlines, Tropic and Gauntlet, it does not need much effort, just email Eric Smith with the desired Banner image and Message and they will post it in the blog, however I like the theme of Offshore for this upcoming Summer Update.

This update wouldn’t any different than previous updates; we’d still get community made cosmetics, war paints, and maps while Valve is picking and choosing the latest popular ones.
It’s the Brazil community project all over again is all. Valve is still outsourcing essentially everything.
