For some clarity: Drunken fool figured out the system fraudulently through what was most likely a connection with a valve employee, which ended up turning the item into one that was extremely controversial due to how most people received one illegitimately.

And his previous exploitation of idle item drops was a script that allowed people to receive far more items than should normally be gained, which was a massive deal due to the real-life value each item had. He's become what's commonly known as a "White Hat Hacker", someone that has used their hacking/exploitation skills and understanding of a game to benefit it and ensure it stays safe from malicious exploitation, thus him becoming a valve worker.

And although this takes place after what the video describes, the unintentional extremely controversial nature of the golden wrenches actually had a fantastic and wholesome ending. Not long after the wrench fiasco had ended, a group of golden wrench owners (that had obtained it properly) hosted an event where they would destroy all their golden wrenches in the name of charity. They succeeded in raising over 31 THOUSAND dollars from the event, and inspired a long standing tradition of charity.

And although another video may end up mentioning this, there were actually a total of 101 golden wrenches given. The final one was given away to an auction winner from a different charity event. As of the current moment, a mere 79 wrenches exist from the original 101 that were distributed.
