Mr.Lykins you will continue to see it slow in South Florida; expensive property insurance, expensive HOA special assessments, 2 back to back hurricanes, overpriced real estate from greedy sellers. You are one of the big cheerleaders of South Florida real estate often referring to it as “Paradise”. I don’t see it as a paradise but rather as a place to avoid.

With all those states having to rebuild whole towns, prices are going to go up, just think about it. Everyone trying to buy the same supplies to build, those who refinanced at 2.5% are not selling, investors bought tons of homes here in Nevada and they are renting them out. We just bought a house, we just looked for a mortgage payment, the one we could afford, in an area we love with, wait for it, a simple low HOA, no frills place, but we can afford it.

Maybe what happened in Eastern TN will turn people off from moving here so I can buy a decent home when the prices drop in the area…that would be a blessed miracle!

problem is (in my case) got a decent preapproved rate, then they just spike .7% in 2 weeks?

Why can’t people
Just accept we might be at the cusp of a downfall? Similar to 2006, 2007 and 2008? I gave an offer in central Florida last week and my loan officer said our rate would be 6.9%, similar to 7%!
