How to use a Metal Brake for Fascia

preview_player
Показать описание
In this video we'll teach you a step by step process for making aluminum facia trim on a metal brake. We'll start off by breaking down the coil stock and then show how we measure out the size we need on the blank. Next we'll move the blank into the metal brake and start bending the facia. We make a piece of fascia 6" tall with a 1" L bend and a 1" hem on the back of the piece. We show how we try not to flip or rotate the coil stock anymore than necessary and how we start with the coil stock blank all the way inside the metal brake and make bends as we pull material out.

Thanks for watching

This is hands down the best explanation on how to do this. I just bought a brake and I had no clue how to get started. Thank you!#!

I've never done this before. But with this guy's instructions I'm going in pretty confident that I'll get some trim made. This guy's awesome.

Thank you for sharing this. You have a wonderful system. Although I am not in the building trades, I have about 35 years experience as a DIY homeowner and have done everything except install fascia trim and am about to do so on my garage which is why I am here. In my application, I figured out that 14" trim coil would work best. In my case, instead of cutting off the inch or so of excess that I don't need, I am choosing to hem that as well as the top edge. So I will have two hemmed edges and one 90 degree bend.

Super helpful. I couldn’t get fascia in the size I needed and had to buy a coil. I had no idea how to even cut it. Thanks for explaining!

❌ instant Subscriber.
Because of the easy way this guy describes using a break.
Looking forward to learning from the other videos on the channel .
I wish other managers I’ve had before became a carpenter were able to teach like this.
⭐️ Gold star for teaching

Thank you much, man. I have a good amount of coil stock work to do on my garage fascia and am completely new to the break. This was a huge help!

Excellent recovery from your knife veering off the brake blade! I could hear the words going through your mind as it happened. :)

Watched the video a few weeks ago. Best part for me was the table set up. I'm a newbe homeowner having to replace all the metal trim on a 20 yr. old house I built. Unfortunately, my siding guy didn't know to warn me about al over treated wood. So it's rotted through. Thanks for the process video.

Thank you so much, that’s is best informative way and detail of how to bend the fascia trim. I did one manually, just one 😅, and it did not look good. I will be renting the Metal Breaker so I don’t ruin all my trim sheets. Again thank you for showing us of “the how to do” or bend trims. Mike
