FAQS
Q: Where are you from?
A: I'm from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Q: What do you do?
A: I'm a full-time mom who works from home, full-time too!
Q: Is Youtube your full-time job?
A: No. This is just a hobby. I enjoy sharing my love for fountain pens, stationery and everything in between
Q: Why is your channel called Lefty Karen?
A: I'm left-handed. I hope this channel can inspire other lefties to try fountain pens and journaling
Q: How long have you been enjoying fountain pens?
A: I'm quite new to fountain pens. I fell down the rabbit hole in 2021 during quarantines and lock-downs. As a lefty, my main concern was ink smudging and that fountain pen nibs are only for right-handed people. But I've since come to love everything about fountain pens. As a lefty, it's tricky using some pens but I also appreciate manufacturers creating left-handed nibs.
I've also learned about nibsmiths / nibmeisters who can customize the grind of your fountain pen and make it work for you a little better.
Q: Do you still use ballpoint pens?
A: Definitely! As much as I love fountain pens, ballpoint pens are still very practical to carry around. I still use ballpoint pens to sign documents and application forms, especially if the papers used for those forms are not fountain pen friendly
Q: Tips for first time journalers / planners?
A: Be easy on yourself. Journaling for me is a therapeutic hobby and I don't want to stress myself just to write something everyday. Write depending on your mood. Write for your heart and soul
