A couple years back, the company that produced Tomoe River paper announced that they were going to stop the production of the paper completely. Hobonichi told their customers that they had enough paper on stock to make their books from the old 52gsm paper for at least a few years. Other companies didn’t have the stock. So somewhere down the line a New Tomoe River paper was introduced and it was 68gsm which I hated too. I missed the old 52gsm paper. Now that another company has bought the Tomoe River paper production they recreated the paper to replicate the original as best as they could. It’s called the successor tomoe River paper. When you buy other notebooks from other companies. Feel free to ask what paper they are using and make sure they are saying it’s the successor. If not, it would be the new one that’s thicker. I hope that helps. Great video.

Great video! I have an A5 Cousin that I stopped using as well. I like how you are repurposing yours. Lots of great ideas.

Love your setup of the Hobonichi Cousin especially the tip-ins. Almost each year a Cousin is purchased and nothing gets done with it. However, this year I am enjoying the Cousin more than ever. As of now it is cut down to a B6+ but not sure if I will do the same with the newer English version....which I love!. For now I will keep it an A5 size and make a decision after using it for a few weeks. Now, I wondering what perfect cover will I want if I keep it A5.🥰.
