I wonder if a commentator's opinion was correct, namely, Bell's paper did not rule out non-local hidden variables. That makes sense because there could be a substantive instantaneous carrier that is non-local because it's everywhere.

This clip is an example of using words without actually saying anything. I don't think there's a physicist out there that thinks Bell meant much more than non-locality.
