Great video. So many great, down to earth tips. Thanks so much for taking the time share. And I mean this kindly, it's great to see a sewing room that could belong to one of us, not a fabric store show room.

I love how much upcycling you do. Money saved on organizational tools is more money to spend on fabric! Plus it's better for the planet. Thanks, this was super helpful!

I used to put my adult sized patterns in mailing tubes. Just roll them up and slide them in. The tubes I used to stand up in a box in the corner of my studio.

Thank you for sharing your normal sewing room; I love that it looks used and not perfect! That's me and I love this!

I too have many trash cans at every station and you're right about how they keep everything neat. I love your color sorting for scraps in bags - I need to do that. I keep larger pieces of fabric that aren't yet scraps but aren't up to fat quarter speed either re-cut into a pre-cut I'll use again or if it's a garment fabric, I'll fold it up neatly for "doll clothes fabric" and when there's enough, either garage sale it or off to Goodwill it goes. I've got new "sewing furniture" coming from Ikea on Monday, 4 Feb and can't wait to completely remodel my sewing space. While you have concrete walls, I have bricks that don't allow for easy hanging so I love your peg board and re-purposed take out containers. I'll do that for sure when I put my peg board up. Loved watching your real sewing area. Thanks for sharing!

I use dollar store garment bags . I use the hangers that have built in clips on them. Some are metal some are plastic..And I hang my large patterns that I do not want to fold much. It works great and they are clear and can be marked on or tags can be used.. And I hang them on the back of the door with a garment hanger that fits over the top of the door..

I like your sewing space, it's real, and everything is at hand. I especially like your idea of multiple waste boxes that fit the spaces where you need them.

The curtain rod and clip rings for patterns ...I would totally do that!

I love your tip about using a tall box for a garbage can. I will be instituting that tip ASAP!

You have done a great job. If I had a sewing room, I would definitely have a pegboard. I sew in my bedroom. I am using my space as efficiently as possible. I have two sewing machines. I only have the one out that I am currently using. I alternate between the two machines.

Thank you for showing your sewing room. Like you I use a load of zip lock bags. But I've also used them for my larger sewing patterns. I don't mind folding patterns, they can always be ironed later. Label the bags with as much information as you can and a good tip I had from a friend, is to put a swatch of the fabric used in with the pattern as a memory jogger. I stand the zip lock bags in magazine boxes, and these stand on the floor and bottom shelf.
I'm looking forward to your next video. Until then, happy sewing!

You could use a swivel office type chair, lower your ironing board so you wouldn't have to get up every time you need to press.

I’m starting this week to clean up my sewing room. Thanks for sharing this. I love how you repurpose household items for storage since I am on a budget. I also have large pattern pieces like you and I'm thinking of rolling them up into old wrapping paper tubes. We'll see how that goes....
