Well, I understand, 8 times faster, back and forth, so what?? the average reaction to click on the mouse button (understanding that the enemy is in your crosshair, clicking the mouse button) is ~220 milliseconds, transmitting this click to the server, processing the shot by the server for some more time. 1 kHz on a mouse - 1 millisecond (1000 mouse polls per 1 second), 8 kHz - 0.125 milliseconds (8000 mouse polls per 1 second). This difference of 0.875 milliseconds does not mean anything, it is approximately 1/300 of the total time spent by you/computer/server processing the click itself. Anything above 1k hertz just makes your mouse discharge faster). But if you have an OP1 8k or any other wired mouse - use 8khz

i use 8k polling on my mouse to fetch me drinks from the fridge

One thing important though. Old motherboards from 9900k time for example. Their usb ports can’t handle 8000 hz polling. It will work yes but it won’t be accurate. It’ll have a higher error rate. But newer motherboards usb hubs can handle it. I went from Asus rog Maximus xi formula to Asus rog crosshair x870e apex and I will tell you it’s dramatically better at 8khz
