Null Space and Column Space of a Matrix

Показать описание
Given a matrix A(ie a linear transformation) there are several important related subspaces. In this video we investigate the Nullspace of A and the column space of A. The null space is the vectors that are "killed" by the transformation - ie sent to zero. The column space will be the image under the transformation.

Learning Objectives:
1) Define the Null Space and the Column Space
2) Given a matrix, compute the Null Space
3) Given a matrix, verify if a vector is in the Column Space (not the slightly different phrasing of questions 2 and 3).

This video is part of a Linear Algebra course taught at the University of Cincinnati.

I think there is a mistake at 3:05. He has put the identity matrix, but it should of course be the matrix at the top of the page.
