Trailer of the Yiddish Tango Project, which was presented in Singer Festival of Jewish Culture in Warsaw on September 2016.

The concert presents the phenomenon of the pre-war tango as the consequence of the Slavic and Jewish elements entanglement. The 1930’s Warsaw with its variety shows, theaters and cafes was the European capital of tango.

Most of the tangos were at the time composed by Polish artists with Jewish origins. That was the reason for the creative exchange between the Polish-speaking popular culture of Warsaw and its Yiddish equivalent, which also had a very well-developed popular arm.
