You can
Get A Becon (mid Game)
Write Down the Coordinates
Get a Map with Banner attached to it
use LoadStone and Compass
Use a compass with spawn point as home

step 2: get a map
step 3: place banner next to house or below
step 4: with map in hand, click the banner with the non-primary mouse button

This will only work if its made on the spawnchunks or you are close to it, if you unload that area by going to far away it wont work.

Step 1: get 3 wither skulls
Step 2: get 4 soul sand
Step 3: spawn and kill the wither
Step 4: build a beacon
Step 5: place the beacon on a pyramid of at least 10 blocks of any ore (not coal)
Or just save coords with a book and quill or anything else

literally just build your base close to spawn point and get a compass. never get lost again.

Another tactic uses frostwalker boots on an armor stand next to the water. Break the ice, put the ender pearl in, go adventure. The ice is supposed to reload when you log in, so log out when in danger and when you log back in you teleport. Unsure if it works for all versions. I haven't tested it.
