Clearly not 10cc. Eric Stuart, who sings this song and most of 10cc's other songs, has a clearly different, more polished voice.
There is more echo in the original song too, creating this 'dreamy, big universe sound'. The background voice, sounding like strings, are 256 voices combined to one, as the documentary on the making of the song 'I'm Not In Love'. It took them several months working in the studio as I recall. It was the first time this was done like this.
Anyway check out this little documentary if you like.
Revolutionary studio band, 10cc, taking an important place in the history of pop music. To me they had this typical eighties pop sound in midst seventies already.
